The company started with one truck, a Lisle yard on E Ogden Ave, and a conviction that most bad moving experiences are not accidents. They are the predictable result of no plan, no inventory, no protection installed before the first piece moves, and nobody willing to tell the customer when something has gone sideways. Fixing that is not clever — it is just discipline applied consistently, which is the one thing military service teaches better than anything else.

Planning
Every move gets a walkthrough or a detailed inventory before a date is confirmed, because a quote built on a guess is a bill that changes on move day. Before the crew leaves the yard, the truck is loaded with pads, straps, dollies, floor runners, shrink wrap and mattress bags for the specific job — not whatever is left over from yesterday. Building requirements are handled in advance: elevator reservations, certificates of insurance naming the property, dock times, gate codes, HOA quiet hours, and street-parking permits where a village requires one for a 26-foot truck.
Discipline
The crew arrives in branded uniforms, at the stated time, briefed on the plan. Protection goes down before anything moves — floor runners, banister padding, door jamb protectors. Furniture is wrapped in the room it came from, not on the sidewalk. Loading follows a sequence so weight is distributed and nothing rides unsupported. It is slower for the first twenty minutes and faster for the remaining six hours, which is the trade almost every cheap crew gets backwards.
Accountability
You get one point of contact who actually answers the phone, an estimate that explains its drivers rather than hiding them, and a straight answer when something goes wrong. If a piece has to come apart, if the elevator is held by another tenant, if the job is going to run past the estimate — you hear it from us first, while there is still time to make a decision about it.
Crew training
New movers do not start out carrying your grandmother's armoire down a staircase. They start on protection, wrapping and load-out under a lead mover, and they move up as they demonstrate they can handle weight safely and communicate on a stairwell. Everyone is trained on dolly and strap technique, doorway and staircase clearance, disassembly and reassembly, and the specific handling that pianos, safes, glass tops and framed art require. Crews are our employees — we do not subcontract your move to strangers.
Licensed, insured and local
Yellow Truck Moving LLC operates from 2100 E Ogden Ave in Lisle under ILCC 230260 MC and USDOT 3638862. We are licensed and insured for household-goods moving in Illinois and for interstate work, and we are happy to provide a certificate of insurance to any building that requires one. Being based in DuPage rather than dispatching from three states away is also why we can send a lead mover to look at a difficult job in person.
