We Give Back

Yellow Truck Moving is veteran-owned, and giving back is part of how the company operates rather than something bolted on at the end of the year. A moving company has two things a community organization usually cannot buy: trucks and people who know how to load them. When those are useful, we would rather put them to work than write a check and call it done.

Veterans and military families

Our strongest ties are with veteran-focused organizations across the Chicago area. Service members and veterans move more often than almost anyone, frequently on short notice and rarely at a convenient time of year. We help where we can with relocations, storage gaps between housing, and the kind of last-minute logistics that fall on families during a transition. More on that on our Veteran Partners page.

Neighbors in transition

Some of the most useful work we do never appears on an invoice: a senior downsizing out of a house they have lived in for forty years, a family leaving a difficult situation quickly, a household hit by a fire or a flood. These moves are emotional as much as physical, and they need patience more than speed. We take them on quietly, and we do not photograph them.

Donation runs and cleanouts

A large share of what comes out of a home during a move does not need to go to a landfill. When we clear a garage, a basement or an estate, we sort what is still usable and route furniture, appliances and household goods to local donation centers and reuse programs instead of the transfer station. Customers get a lighter load and a smaller bill; the goods get a second life. It is the easiest environmental win in this industry and most companies skip it because it takes an extra stop.

Local schools, teams and nonprofits

We support Chicagoland schools, youth sports programs and neighborhood nonprofits with truck and crew time for events, equipment hauls, facility moves and drives. If your group needs something heavy moved for a good reason, ask — the answer is often yes.
